A glassy morning at Huaypo Lake. This gorgeous lake is located in between Cusco and the Sacred Valley of the Incas and is used commercially for watersports, gourmet picnics and events!
Daniel left today to guide a 5-Day Ausangate trek. We absolutely love this route for its incredible and diverse scenery. I took this picture at Palomani Pass (5,165 meters / 16,945 feet) in 2019 - one of my favorite sections of the trek!
Today I would like to share a sweet story. This is the mariachi band that we hired for an event we operated last month. During a break, the guitarist came up to Daniel and gave him his sincerest condolences over losing our beloved Ricardo earlier this year. Apparently, he is also a firefighter and was a good friend of him - so good in fact, he knew exactly who Daniel was having never met him before. That is why I love Cusco. It is such a small town feel and everyone tends to have a connection with everyone else. Who has even heard of a mariachi band firefighter? ❤
Daniel is leaving on Friday to guide our absolute favorite trek - the (5) Day Ausangate Lodge Trek for our vendor partner, Andean Lodges! Our guests are from Canada and Peru - making that 8 countries we have serviced guests from since our reactivation in May!
We were blessed with a gorgeous rainbow trekking down from Intipunku (the Sun Gate) to Machu Picchu on our recent private 2-Day Inca Trail Trek! The second picture is the view from the Sun Gate in the afternoon light.
Our guests exploring the Inca architecture at Ollantaytambo during their private Sacred Valley tour!
