Northern Patagonia is a true expanse of untouched wilderness filled with endless mountain peaks, turquoise rivers, volcanic hot springs, lush temperate rainforests and glacier lakes. This personally curated expedition begins in Puerto Montt, a port city known as the gateway to Patagonia. A short flight will transfer guests to Chaiten, where the real adventure will begin!
After driving a section of the famed Carretera Austral guests will arrive at a picturesque mountain lodge. They will spend several days exploring the many hiking trails within Pumalin Douglas Tompkins National Park. The privately guided hikes will include views of cascading waterfalls, alerce forests and the Chaiten Volcano. A boat tour through remote fjords and sea lion colonies will transport guests to the Porcelana Hot Springs, where they can soak in its therapeutic waters.
The expedition will continue to Futaleufú, which is world-renowned for its white water rafting. It is consistently ranked as one of the best places in the world for rafting. With its turquoise water and several Class IV & V rapids it is the perfect place to partake in this activity. This surrounding area also offers many adventure sport opportunities and guests will enjoy trekking, horseback riding, SUP on a glacier lake – all from their base of a remote mountain lodge complete with a sauna, hot tub and outdoor fireplace. This expedition is the perfect experience for families and adventure lovers who want to immerse in the essence of Patagonia!
