Cusco this morning. This city never fails to take my breath away!
Chinchero is world-renowned for its native weavers, which have preserved this skill for generations. All coloring is completely natural as well, created by Andean indigenous roots, leaves, flowers...etc.
Machu Picchu as well as all archaeological sites will be reopening tomorrow, March 1, 2021!
Pretty adorable roadside traffic in the high Andes!
This has always been one of my favorite pictures we have taken of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On this gorgeous day we were simply hiking through rural farmland in Chinchero - completely alone. That is one of the things I enjoy most about the Andes - it isn't always about the scenic lookout points, world-renowned treks or famous places you see plastered all over travel magazines and on social media - it is the fact that ALL of it is beautiful, from every angle and in all seasons.
First views of Machu Picchu upon entering the site! We have heard that Machu Picchu will be reopening within the next few days, but no definite date has been confirmed.
